The motivity and the respect of the integrity of off the road soils, stability on high banking grounds, research of roadholding on snowy grounds, vision or location by foggy weather, detection of obstacles in industrial environment, electromagnetic compatibility, geo positioning in forest environment, the guidance of autonomous vehicles in urban zone... are so many complex requirements which have to answer the modern vehicles.

The Massif Central area, territory of medium sized mountains and of medium sized agglomerations, representative of the European landscapes diversity, is a ground favourable to creation, developement and experimentation of answers to these issues. An innovative area and a roofless test center in order to develop the mobility-aid systems.

That is why we have wished to use SATCAR 2009 to gather all the actors, competences and technologies of the vehicles and mobility sector under the unifying banner “Mobility aid in complex environment”.
